Variety FTW :P

I liked it, it had a very ominous, kind of evil vibe to it in the beginning. I liked how the drums switched from a hiphop style beat in the beginning to a straight 2 and 4 rock beat on the snare. Different looks like that always make a song more interesting and give it more depth.
I loved how you mixed music styles in this. As I mentioned before I heard some hiphop and rock type beats with the drums and much of song had a kind of rock/trance fusion type of thing going on, which was pretty awesome.
Overall it was a solid song, man, I enjoyed it. Good work.

Thx for the review.

This song was originally made for 5 people and I made a part for every person. There used to be "voice acting" but I took it out because it was really hard to understand.

So the song could be considered 6 different songs (counting intro). I put it up in 3 pieces cause it was too long >:(

Smooth

It was very nice, it had such a calm, serene feel to it. The drums with that heavy-hitting snare really added a kick to it without disrupting the feel of the song.
I really enjoyed all the different vibes I got from this tune. It had a lot of different little melodies that drifted in and out which really kept things fresh and kept me interested throughout the song.
Overall this was a really graceful track, calming, yet powerful in its own right. I really enjoyed listening. -Good job.

Great Work Once Again!

Awesome, this was even better than the first! The bass was really ripping, it gave this a really intense vibe. The whole song was really powerful and easy to really get into. I also loved the softer melodies you threw in there, it really mixed things up nicely and slowed the song down for a bit, giving it a well-rounded feel. Overall, an awesome tune, man. -Super powerful riffs and lots of energy, just how I like 'em. XP -Great job.

Part three will have that high energy feeling, but it'll be more happy/less aggressive.
Thanks for the review!

Great

Very nice, the piano melody in the beginning was very soothing, I loved it. The vocal effect thing was also really neat. I found the beginning of this track to be really solemn and kind of sad-sounding, then it really picked up when the drums came in.
I like how the focal point of most of this track was largely on the drums, the beat was really energetic. Between that crazy beat on the drums and the electronic effects it kind of reminded me of an old instrumental Linkin Park song. ;p
Overall this was a great track, it was very well put together and gave the listener a lot of different looks and feels. A very good listen, good job.

Really Good :) And Really Short >:(

You really nail the essence of old school video game music right on the head with this stuff. Everything is so clean and clear and well put together it makes me wish my NES still worked! XP Once again, the only criticism I have with this is the length! I would really love to see this made longer, you must! Its got a boat-loads of potential. You put together some pretty solid old video game type music from what I've seen, man. Keep up the good work!

Thank you! I was quite tired at the time so i cut it short.

I should make some more of 8-bit hmm

SHORT!!

Certainly a great arcade-sounding video game-type piece. I liked it for what it was, but it was far too short to give a proper critique! I've never heard this song before, is it from a video game? (I only guess that as it sounds like video game music.) :P Anyway, it was much too short. But the 8 seconds there were sounded very good! XP -Good work

aod3 responds:

Yeah it's actually the opening theme for the arcade classic Galaga.

When you started the game with one or two players this little song played. :D

Thanks RRC :P

Cool

Very nice, the rhythm was very well done in this song. It was a very nice listen, if only it were longer! XP The only criticism I have on this is that I think the ending could have been a little better. The one note being held at the end of the song kind of seemed like you didn't know how to end it, or something. (Which is something that I always have issues with when I write songs.) XP
Overall, I really enjoyed it, you should work on this some more! Make it longer and add some more to it, its got potential!

Adam-Beilgard responds:

This did have an abrupt ending, I agree. Originally meant as a larger piece, I cut it short so I could feature it as an example in the AP (hence the title). I like the sound of potential - hopefully someone hears something they like and commission a work. I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the review!

Different For Sure

As far as criticism goes, I thought it was kind of rough, for a lack of a better word. It seemed to lack rhythm throughout most of the song which made it kind of hard to listen to. Though I did like it more toward the end of the song. The large space in the beginning would be a good spot for a quiet fade-in or something.
It was certainly very original. What genre of music would this be under? Jazz was the only thing I could think of, but you say its Japanese in your comments. (Is "Togaku" an instrument, or a kind of music..?) Anyway, I do enjoy listening to music that is outside my "norm", though, so it was a fun listen! Good job!

Adam-Beilgard responds:

Togaku is "high court music" from Japan. What we think of when we picture Haydn working for the Esterhazy family was happening in Japan about 1000 years earlier. It is arhythmic since its purpose is to set a mood (though it would have been more than background music back then). It's always good to explore outside your comfort zone - I encourage you to listen to this again sometime, the imagery becomes clearer about the fourth time around.

Thanks for reviewing!

Not Bad

Pretty good, I liked it. The sound quality seemed to be a little low, but it had a nice groove to it nonetheless. The overdriven guitar part was definitely the best part of this song; it was certainly nice to hear a little guitar in a requested audio submission! Overall it was a pretty good, face paced tune, good job.

MusicIsBliss responds:

haha, the saddest part is where this song i was trying to aim for the best quality possible. i think one of the last eq-ing things i did cut off something vital, making the choir synth sound weird, but oh well, thanks

Not Bad

It was pretty good. I thought it was a little rough around the edges but it certainly had a grinding feel to it for a techno song. I did like the idea of a techno version to Smoke On The Water, though. It was quite different from the original in a lot of respects, yet it still had that famous main riff in there. Overall a good job, I'm sure the full version will be even better!
