W00T!

The best way I can describe this is as an upper echelon flash game with some serious replay value. I honestly couldn't think of a better game to introduce the Newgrounds Metal system with. (Which is an absolutely awesome feature, by the way).
The art has that perfect balance of happy-go-lucky cartoon style and pure carnage and gore. I would really love to see more games with that "in between" vibe. It appeals to both a younger and older audience quite well, IMO.
The gameplay was perfect. the enemies were easy to engage, yet took a while to defeat. The gameplay was also good enough to the point where you can start to incorperate your own strategy into beating enemies and bosses. (Like tricking the KK into being bombed by BFK's yarn-balls, or using enemies long-range attacks to injure their partners, for example).
The audio this game showcased fit like a glove, all the way down to the tempo of the fighting, and the pace at which the characters move. The music matches it all perfectly! The quality of the audio is right up to par with the graphics which makes for a really well-rounded game with no weak spots.
The difficulty is really spot-on, for me anyway. Getting far into the game wasn't too challenging, but actually beating it, on the other hand, was. Too many games are either too easy and get boring fast, or are too hard and are simply given up on. This game offered just the right amount of challenge to keep you interested and coming back for more.
Aside from featuring the all-new Metals feature, the addition of mini games kept the game interesting and acted as nice "intermissions" between levels. Adding unlockable hidden characters also added to that extra dimension, not to mention made for good replay value.
Overall, I'll simply put this as a top-notch game. To be put up there as one of the best ever submitted to Newgrounds. Simply astounding work!

Constructive Review

I enjoyed playing around with this, and I'll say first that it has potential, but it was a bit limited and simplistic in some areas .
Your drawings were fairly good, but I would try adding some color and making the mounted toms and hi hat/cymbal stands a bit more 3D.
As far as audio goes, everything was spot on. The sounds were crisp, clean and very responsive when clicked. It may seem kind of boring to some, but maybe add a metronome option the player can turn on/off to use while playing. Also, having an array of guitar/bass riffs from all different types of music to play along with would make this game more fun and take it to a whole new level, IMO.
The one major flaw this has is the fact you play with the mouse. This makes it impossible to keep an interesting beat! Using the keyboard would allow use of the hi hat/ride cymbal with the bass snare and tom drums simultaneously as one would when playing on a real drum kit.
Overall, I'd say that you have a good start. I really do see some good potential here. Please take some of my ideas/criticisms into consideration and keep working on this, I would love to see another version!

Wow, a metronome is a great idea. I would definately make the keyboard activate the drums if I knew how! Thanks for the great review!

Not Bad...

This was actually a pretty addicting game, considering its simplicity. Your drawings and animation are fairly well done. The controls are very easy to maneuver and are quite responsive. -When I had the aim over the baby and I clicked, it exploded. All too often flash games similar to this seem to be too finicky with where exactly the cursor needs to be in order to register as a hit. Or conversely, not sensitive enough. None of that here, though, which made playing much more enjoyable.
The audio and sound effects were both right on the money. The title screen and gameplay songs were both quite fitting for the theme of the game, it really set the mood quite nicely. :)
I have no qualms with the content you have here. Everything is as solid as a rock, IMO. But I do feel like you could expand on this a lot. I would try incorporating a level system. (Ie. You need to shoot x amount of babies in x amount of time in order to reach the next level.) You could make the babies fall faster, or make it so shooting certain ones will subtract a point. Also gun upgrades would be pretty neat, too. Just some thoughts.
This game really is quite good as it is, just very limited.

Cool Beans

When I first checked this out, I was expecting some boring wall of text informing me how I can become a better user. But in reality, it wasn't that at all, it was really more of a quiz/personality-type game than a guide, IMO. :P
For starters, I must give you props on the graphics. The title, "Newgrounds Helpful Guide" on the opening screen really caught my eye in all it's spiffyness, very cool and professional looking. :) Besides that, well, everything was very bight, colorful and Newgrounds themed, as a flash about Newgrounds probably should be. :P Overall, very good job in the graphics department.
The songs you chose were pretty cool, though they did tend to get a bit much after a while...Which leads me to my next comment, which is nice job adding a mute option. It may seem simple, but so many submissions tend to skip out on it, -it's a nice feature to have. :) The only thing I could suggest with the audio, would be to have like 5 or so songs available to listen to and have a little jukebox type thing that allows you to toggle through the songs so you can choose what type of music you want to listen to. I'm not sure how hard that would be to make, though...Just a thought. ;)
As a whole, you guys did a nice job with this. The graphics were all quite nice and there was plenty of varying questions. Congrats on the award. :D

Oh, and BTW, my honest-to-god score was a 35. MOD PLOX loll

Thanks man.

Nice Work

The drawings were all very well done. As a Zelda fan, it seemed like a cross between A Link To The Past and Wind Waker. :P The animation as a whole was very smooth. The controls are very responsive and easy to figure out. (Even without reading the instructions) lol
One other thing I can say, is that certain areas of the game, (like when your in the town afer getting the lamp) actually remind me more of a game like Pokemon, opposed to Zelda. Not to say that's a bad thing, it's just a feeling I had that I thought was worth mentioning. :P
The boss battle music from A Link To The Past gave this otherwise more recent-looking game a real retro feel. You did a good job choosing music that was fitting to the scenarios occurring in the game and also choosing music from a variety of Zelda games, opposed to just leaning toward a game like OoT, for example.
This game seemed to have the plot line of any typical Zelda game. (Which I don't doubt was the idea.) :P Throwing in some Newgrounds/Nintendo personalties was also a good idea for a cameo. ;P
Though I wouldn't call this overly sidesplitting, there was some humor to be found. Being confronted by the Invincible Sewer Demon, "Lampshade Guardian" gave me a good chuckle. The method and lack of difficulty in which he is defeated was also comical.
The close parallels to the actual Zelda games in content, art style and audio made this parody very entertaining. Yet on the other hand, though you kept the feeling of a Zelda game intact, you also managed to put your own twist on this game. I would imagine that may not necessarily be an easy thing to accomplish, so I say great work! I hadn't been expecting anything less from The-Super-Flash-Bros!

Loved It!

I really wasn't expecting anything much at fist glance, but I must admit, I found playing this game to be rather enjoyable! :D Everything about it was as simple as can be, but the controls were very smooth and responsive and maneuvering around the obstacles was fairly easy, yet just challenging enough to be fun. Adding power-ups like "invincibility" and "nuke" were also great ideas.
Your choice in music was quite good, IMO. I loved that guitar solo bit; it was very fun to listen to, didn't get old, and it fit the pace of the game well.
Overall you did a great job with this simple game. Very nice job for your first, keep it up! :D

Thanks. You can PM me if you want the mp3 of that song. I'll keep working at designing and come out with another game maybe sometime soon.

Not Bad!

You've got some good potential here. The animated items were done very well, that's not something you see in every dress-up; the extra effort really makes it stand out. The drawings as a whole, too were also well done.
Having all the items in a pile like that makes it kind of difficult to see all your options clearly.
Adding a song with an optional mute button would be nice. Maybe even a few tracks you can select between. That's the only thing I can really see that this flash lacks.
Overall, I enjoyed messing around with it, a solid dress-up game, for sure. Good work!

Hrmm...

I got Pico. :P I actually enjoyed taking this quiz. There were more questions than I was expecting, and the options you gave covered a wide range which made me feel like I was able to answer each question as accuratley as possible without having a "none of the above" or "this question doesn't apply" option. The username question was the only one I had a hard time selecting an answer for. :P
The audio selection was good. Making a submission like this and NOT choosing Endless Handbag Loop got a point for originality.
The only downside to this, if any, was the graphics. I felt like it could have been displayed a bit better visually. Sticking to the Newgrounds template was a good idea, but it just seemed a little sloppy. :x
Overall, it was a fun game. It was well enjoyed, good job dudes and thanks for the co. lol

Good Work!

I'll start by saying (as said before me) that this certainly isn't providing us with any new information. BUT, this was very well put together. Everything from the backgrounds, to the buttons to the music was very professional and pleasing to look at. I would much rather take a good look at this flash then look at the dusty, old NG FAQ. XP I could certainly see this being very helpful to newbies who would be more inclined to take something flashy like this seriously over sorting through pages and pages of boring text. :P
Including some of the retro stuff was a nice touch, too. I really liked that. Overall, though it's not anything original, I could still see this serving a good purpose. Great work on this! :)
